Public Accuracy Test of Voting Equipment

Monday, July 29, 10 am

Public Notice: Public Accuracy Test for the August 3, 2010 election has been scheduled for Monday, July 26, 2010 at 10:00 am in the Ann Arbor Township Hall meeting room at 3792 Pontiac Trail, Ann Arbor, MI. The Public Accuracy Test is conducted to demonstrate that the program and equipment that will be used to tabulate the results of the election, counts the votes in the manner prescribed by law. The AutoMARK Voter Assistance Terminal will also be tested. Open to the public.

Notice is hereby given: Ann Arbor Township Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at the Ann Arbor Township Hall, 3792 Pontiac Trail, Ann Arbor, to hear comment on zoning ordinance amendments to Section 74-2, Section 74-461, Section 74-462, Section 74-463 and creation of a new Section 74-607 all pertaining to the establishment of standards for the keeping of non-farm animals in residential districts. A draft of the proposed amendments is posted here and is also available for review or purchase at Township Hall, 3792 Pontiac Trail, Ann Arbor, MI 48105, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Written comments may be submitted to Township Hall or via email jcollins@aatwp.org before 12:00 p.m. on 8/4/2010. All interested parties are invited to attend and express their views.

On June 21, 2010 the Ann Arbor Charter Township Board of Trustees approved the 2nd reading of an ordinance amendment to Section 48 - 22, Definitions, of Article II of Chapter 48 of the Township Code of Ordinances - Purchase of Development Rights to amend the definition of "farmland and open space land" to include parcels contiguous with agricultural land. The ordinance will be effective July 1, 2010. The full text of the ordinance is available for review or purchase at the Township Hall, 3792 Pontiac Trail, Ann Arbor, MI during regular business hours, 8:00-4:30 pm, M-F. The Ann Arbor Charter Township Planning Commission held a public hearing on the proposed ordinance amendments on April 5, 2010. Based on comments from the public, the Planning Commission narrowed and clarified the draft ordinance to provide that a Tree/Woodland Removal Permit is only required in the following circumstances as set forth in 74-605(c): 1) When site plan or subdivision plat review is required; 2) For removal of gross basal area of 60 sq. ft. of Protected Trees from a parcel or parcels greater than 1 acre within a 5 year period, unless exempt as a farm operation or exempt pursuant to a Woodland Stewardship Plan. The amended draft is posted here and is available for review or purchase at Township Hall, 3792 Pontiac Trail, Ann Arbor, MI 48105, M-F, 8 am - 4:30 pm. Interested parties are invited to express their views in person, writing or email to moran@aatwp.org.
